Doctors Visit

Well, I went for my monthly visit to the surgeon today, and I have some good news/bad news.  I will tell you the bad news first. Actually it really isn't bad. It just looks bad in print. I am up by 2lbs. You are probably wondering how that can be... well for one thing it is life.. the other thing which is the good new..... I am down in fat lbs about 4lbs!!! so there you have it the good with the bad.
Actually from my visit with the surgeon last month I am down another 4lbs so all is all everything is good and he says I am right on track.
One thing that he did do is put me on a low/no carb program, so I expect some changes in the next few weeks with the change in diet and my upped exercise.

Is the scale broken?

Hello Friends!
A short post today as I am running late for work.

I am wondering if my scale is broken. I know it is not, but I am at a stall.... I hate stalls!
I need your help and support to get me out of this stall. Personally I have increase the intensity of my work outs... I am wondering if I also need to mix up my work out? What do you think? Comment on my post and give me so feedback.

No gain/ No loss... Another contest

Hi Everyone!
It has been a busy couple of weeks at home and at work. I haven't been blogging much lately.
Good news on the weight loss.. No gain and No loss for the pass two weeks. I guess that is good. I am trying to up the exercise. We shall see if that works or not.
I am schedule for another sleep study on the 19th. I will let you know how it comes out.

I am getting back on track!

Hello my friends!
Things are moving along really nice. I am down 20 lbs since my revision. I have been exercising 2 to 3 times a week and so far this time around I am enjoying it.

I also wanted to share this recipe with you today. It is crust-less Zucchini pie. I made it last night and it is soooo yummy. I got it from Skinnytaste.com

Crust-less Summer Zucchini Pie



A simple savory pie made with summer zucchini, shallots, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. If you're looking for a tasty way to use up your summer zucchini, this is it!

It makes a wonderful side dish to any meal or serve it at a potluck or brunch.

To make shredding the zucchini easier,  just throw it in the food processor. You'll want to put the zucchini in a cheese cloth and give it a good squeeze to take out all the moisture.



Crust-less Zucchini Pie

Servings: 6 • Serving Size: 1/6th • Old Points: 3 pts • Points+: 3 pts
Calories: 125.3  • Fat: 4.8 g • Protein: 8.1 g • Carb: 13.1 g • Fiber: 2.0 g • Sugar: 2.5 g
Sodium: 420.1 mg

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz shredded zucchini, all liquid squeezed out 
  • 1/2 cup shallots, chopped
  • 1/4 chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 cup part skim mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup white whole wheat flour (King Aurthur)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 cup fat free milk
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • fresh cracked pepper to taste
  • cooking spray (I used my misto)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400°. Lightly spray a pie dish with cooking spray or your misto. Combine zucchini, shallots, chives, and mozzarella cheese in a bowl.

Sift flour and baking powder in a medium bowl. Add remaining ingredients to the bowl and blend well. Combine with zucchini mixture and pour it into the pie dish.


Top with parmesan cheese and bake 30-35 minutes or until knife comes out clean from the center. Let it stand at least 5 minutes before serving.

Makes 6-8 servings.

I made it through the week

Well, it is Friday and I made it though the week at work. I was able to set up an eating schedule and pretty much stick to it. Also I got to start pureed foods on Thursday. It was so wonderful. LOL Actually I had been looking forward to Shelly's Baked Ricotta I just love that stuff and so easy to make. With it being so hot here in Georgia (Plus my downstairs AC is on the fritz), I was able to just nuke it.

On a sad note. My Aunt Barnetta passed on Thursday. It was a very sad day for me. She was going to be down here next week to help me prepare to move in to my new place. Her death was so unexpected. I am glad she is now with my Mom and her sisters in heaven.

Back to work and Shelly's Giveaway

Well tomorrow I am headed back to work after my 2 week medical vacation. I am a little nervous about this as I need to make sure I get in all my full fluids.
So far I have my protein and water pack. In the fridge I have my pudding, soup, jello, and milk.
I will also resume my rip class (weight lifting to music) and Tuesday resume my Zumba class. I am excited about that!

Hello! Long time no me. I know. I just got really frustrated. All that up and down, with more up's than downs.
After going back and forth with my doctor I went and had a revision done to my RNY-BYPASS. I am happy to report that I am down 12 lbs!! yea me right!
Well, I have been on clear liquids for 2 weeks, and I am now on full liquids. I must say this is almost like the orginal bypass procedure as I can not get much down. Which is a good thing. For Breakfast today I made a 4 ounce protein shake. I could only get 2 ounces down before I was full! I have add at least 3 ounces of water in, which I must improve. I should be getting down at least 64 oz a day this week. It is so hard as I am sure if you have gone though weight loss surgery you know that!
For lunch I am attempting to have 3 oz of creamy cream of potato soup, with a sugar free Popsicle. The soup is sooo yummy LOL.

If anyone out there is reading this blog please let me know you are there. I want to know if the outside world is reading this. Also let me know if I can help you with your own weight loss journey.

I will try to post more often than a few months at a time. Beside if I know someone out there is reading my blog it will make it easier.

Really I am still here

Yes I am still here. Just frustrated, the scale is going in the wrong direction. It is easier not to write about it when things are not going as you would want them to.
I am going to the doctor this Friday so we shall see what we are going to do about this gain and get the rest of this weight off.

Yes I am still here

Yes, I am still around. Still struggling with this thing called weight loss.
I am still doing weight watcher; however the scales have not been nice to me. Or should I say I have not been nice to them. Up and down Up and down is how I have been going.
I think I may need some head therapy as I am not sure what is going on with me. I can not stay focus on the task at hand. Plus I can not get my self to exercise. I say I am going to do it, but I have yet to even start.
Anyways any of you that maybe be reading this please leave me some advice and suggestions. I really need to get this weight off.

Week one is finished and we did good!

Today we finished week one, and let me tell you we had success!!
I have a loss of 2.4 lbs. What a great week. I had assumed that I would stay the same, but when you follow the program correctly you will loose even if  you go off plan for a day or two, all you need to do is jump back on. 
I am trying to stay to my points which some days is hard. I sometimes can not eat all that is on my plate, but I am still counting the full point as I don't know how far I am off. I am learning that when I don't try or do right I am hurting no one but myself. Which at times can be so easy to do, because sometime we forgive ourselves so easy. I need not be too hard on myself, but I also need to learn how to be more stern. This is just not with eating but with life in general.

She also share a great protein pop recipe that I am going to try.
Here it is:


Shelly's Frozen Protein Yogurt (or Pudding) Drops

1/2 cup Greek Yogurt (or Sugar Free Pudding)
3-4 Tablespoons (to taste) of any Protein Powder

Mix together till well combined.
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and drop tablespoons of the mixture (yields about 25 drops) or fill an ice cube tray.
Freeze till solid about 2 hours. Store in the freezer (up to a week or so) and pop a few in your mouth whenever you want a frozen protein treat or add to smoothies for an extra protein boost instead of ice.
